Positively Different Training

DistinXion C.H.A.M.P.I.O.N.S. athletes will have a number of unique training opportunities. These include our Training Camps, a custom Core 5 take-home development program, and weekly regional skill development workouts. During our off-month in June, we encourage players to continue their development on their own through monthly challenges in basketball, fitness, and devotion.

Training Camps

“Under pressure, you don’t rise to the occasion, you sink to the level of your training. That’s why we train so hard.”— United States Navy Seals

Training Camps are the foundation of what we do. DistinXion C.H.A.M.P.I.O.N.S. athletes will have 7-8 Training Camps throughout the summer. Training Camps will be held on non-tournament weekends and allow our program and players to solely focus on individual and team development. Segments include individual skill development, film study, and live competition play. Within this training environment, athletes will have the opportunity to grow their knowledge for the game, develop new habits, and prepare to take their next steps both as players & as people.

Core 5

Core 5 is a custom-made, take-home development program designed to provide athletes with skill development resources, challenges, and guidance throughout the week. Core 5 will be available for athletes and run throughout our entire season together. Participation in Core 5 activities is optional, but encouraged, for athletes.

Training Camps

Training camps for HS Development athletes will be full day events, roughly 6 hours in length, within a training environment like no other. At each Training Camp, athletes will have two 45 minute classroom sessions along with two (roughly) 2 hour gym sessions. A tentative schedule:

  • Classroom Session A - 9:00 am - 9:45 am

  • Court Session A - 9:45 am - 11:30 pm

  • Program Lunch (on site) - 11:30 pm - 12:15 pm

  • Classroom Session B - 12:15 pm - 1:00 pm

  • Court Session B - 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Classroom Sessions: A learning environment devoted to helping athletes discover the uncommon skills, leadership traits, and mindset needed to become the best version of themselves (both on & off the court). Athletes are encouraged to lean in & take notes as we talk about topics like how to attack man-to-man defense, how to attack zones, how to handle pressure, finishing around the rim, how to make an impact on the defensive end, how to become a dual-threat playmaker, handling adversity, leadership, the power of gratitude, confidence, cleverness, taking your communication to the next level, and much more - all within an engaging and interactive classroom setting.

Court Sessions: Time devoted to application of skills, habit building progressions, & purposeful competition play. Join the DistinXion coaching staff within an uncommonly positive basketball environment focused on teaching the game, skill development, and empowering athletes.

Tournaments

Athletes will compete in 6 official AAU tournament weekends throughout our season. There will also be one “DXN Tournament” hosted. This is an all-day Saturday event where we aim to bring the AAU Tournament experience to our own backyard.

Core 5

Core 5 will be available for athletes and run throughout our entire season together. Participation in Core 5 activities is optional, but encouraged, for athletes.
